Sempervivum (semper= always, vivum = living), the name tells it all: these plants survive almost every condition. The only thing you have to do is not give them too much water. An ideal plant, which needs minimal care and can be planted everywhere. Except for a place full of shadow, because there they will discolour. You don’t need to consider anything else! You can plant them in a border, in a rock garden, in a pot or bowl, even on the roof tiles of your garden shed they will do well. Thus: don’t be disencouraged about some of your plants being shattered by the heat of the last period. Sempervivum comes to the rescue! With a little bit of protection they even live through the winter.
